Los Cancioneros Master Chorale Awarded Grant from Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture
Los Cancioneros Master Chorale is pleased to announce an Organizational Grant Program (OGP) award from the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons. The chorale values the continued grant support for its Artistic Director, Allan Robert Petker, and his vision for challenging, inspiring choral programming.
Los Cancioneros Master Chorale (LCMC) was founded in 1949 in Torrance California, recently celebrating its 75th concert season. LCMC’s mission is to bring high quality choral music to residents of the South Bay and Los Angeles communities. LCMC was recognized by the Torrance Cultural Arts Commission in 2014 and received the Palos Verdes Peninsula Coordinating Council’s Community Service Award for 2019. Commendations also have been received from the U.S. Congress, California State Legislature, California State Senate and Los Angeles County.
Since the 1980s, LCMC has funded music scholarships to gifted high school seniors or college students pursuing a career in music. Competitive auditions are held each year, where three or four scholarships of at least $1,000 are awarded.
Three season performances are presented at the James Armstrong Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, CA. Concert dates for 2024/2025 are December 15, 2024, March 16, 2025, and June 15, 2025. Tickets may be purchased for $35 at lcmasterchorale.com or from the James Armstrong Theatre Box office at 310-781-7171.
An annual gala fundraiser, Get Your Just Desserts, will be held November 2, 2024, and also features a short opening concert by the chorale. Tickets go on sale in September for $125. For more information, go to lcmasterchorale.com.
Los Cancioneros Master Chorale is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture.
